Garnier Eye Roll-On Success With Packs From GCS

29/06/09 - Garnier’s Nutritionist Caffeine Eye Roll-On is the perfect example of a product enhanced by the functionality of its packaging. Since its launch in January 2008 the product has become the number one eye care in Britain* and has sold more than five million units worldwide.

 

Designed by Garnier, a division of L'Oréal, the Eye Roll-On applicator provides a new and different product for the consumer with a unique selling proposition; the ultra-thin gel is applied directly to the eye contour area with a roll-on massage action via the elegant and practical applicator, which helps stimulate microcirculation. L'Oréal initially launched the product in Europe choosing Global Closure Systems as supplier because of its ability to manufacture the plastic components of the pack using different technologies. Zeller Plastik Poland’s capabilities matched the requirements of both manufacturing and assembly of the packs ready for filling. More recently, as a result of the subsequent worldwide product launch, Zeller Plastik USA is now also manufacturing plastic components to service the American market.

 

The slender 15ml container is injection blow moulded in PP in the Garnier Nutritionist signature bright green. The fitment is injection moulded in black PE and supplied assembled with the inox steel ball which itself contributes directly to the refreshing sensation of the gel for an immediate cooling effect. The transparent screw-on cap in natural PP is also injection moulded and features a silver band hot stamped around the skirt to coordinate with the silver Garnier logo on the container and label outline.    * Unit sales to January 2009 - Nielsen
