Making a Splash: Brand refresh to stay competitive

15/01/2007 - For more than 10 years, Splash Corporation has trusted Zeller Plastik Philippines for innovative solutions, consistent quality, and efficient manufacturing processes. When the company decided to refresh the appearance of its top selling products, Splash turned to long-standing packaging partner GCS.


Splash Corporation, one of the leading personal care product manufacturers in the Philippines, was the first FMCG company in the country to release a skin whitening product line. Its SkinWhite whitening product line quickly became a consumer favorite thanks to its advanced whitening technology.

Since its launch, however, several local companies have created similar products to compete head on with the SkinWhite range, making a brand refresh necessary to stay competitive. Even though the SkinWhite lotion and soap enjoy a dominant market leadership in their respective categories, a package redesign was considered necessary to ensure shelf appeal and an improved consumer experience with the product.

The team at Zeller Plastik offered the company an array of creative closure solutions based on the global portfolio from GCS. Using an existing flip-top closure design, Zeller Plastik made a number of enhancements to create a unique side-opening closure. Creating a new solution from an existing product design allows GCS to offer innovation, efficiency, and dependability: an ideal combination for Splash.

“With its distinctive shape and side-opening, the new closure is unique not only to the personal care segment but also to the Philippines market,” says Teenah Espiritu-Paruli, Sales Manager, Zeller Plastik Philippines.

The project was completed in less than a year with smooth implementation at every level from development to production to shipping and the SkinWhite product was successfully re-launched in June 2006.
