TWO GLOBAL CLOSURE SYSTEMS’ SPEAKERS AT THE PLASTICS CAPS & CLOSURES CONFERENCE 2015

October 27, 2015

Derek Hindle and Lance Pearson, respectively Marketing Director and Sales Director for Global Closure Systems (GCS), will present the Group at the Plastics Caps & Closures Conference 2015, to be held in Nice, on November 4-5 2015.

Latest innovations and focus on adding value are the watchwords of this 12th edition. As a major supplier and a world leader in innovation of closure systems for the FMCG market, GCS will provide valuable insights on two areas the Group excels at.

On day one, Lance Pearson will give a speech about ‘Counterfeit’. He will explore the complex market of Spirits and the needs that brands have to protect product integrity in different geographies.

“During my talk, I will discuss how we need to think of closure security strategy as a process of ‘layering’.  Thinking in this way, brand owners can stay ahead of those who wish to profit from creating fake versions of their beloved brands”, states Lance Pearson.

Lance Pearson has over 20 years of experience supplying the Spirits industry. Having travelled widely to understand counterfeit threats facing major Spirits brands around the world, Lance is currently working for the GCS facility at Bridge of Allan in Scotland - which is the GCS Expert Centre for Security Closures.

On day two, keynote speaker Derek Hindle will deliver a ‘modern day dispensing closure design’ presentation. He will look at the vast range of products dispensed through closures from silicone valves to simple orifice dispensing systems for the beverage, food and personal care markets.

“I will describe the challenges within dispensing closure design, and illustrate the modern approach undertaken at GCS to meet those challenge; including our use of fluid dynamic analysis to speed up our design process”, explains Derek Hindle.

After gaining a B-Eng degree in Polymer Engineering at the University of North London, Derek Hindle spent his early career as a product designer in FMCG packaging. In 2009, Derek took full responsibility for the Product Innovation strategy of GCS. More recently, he took on the role to lead GCS in becoming a Market and Innovation led company.
